The sky over my head tonight is lit brightly by a full moon. The sky clear, as last night’s rains have moved off the coast, leaving only the brightest stars to be seen. With the moon in full, and the lack of cloud cover, the night sky gives off a deep, dark blue. In the distance, a train’s whistle signals its arrival, dropping off commuters stuck at the office late. The sound of tires meeting pavement gives off a gentle hum. The geese in the pond announce their arrival for the coming winter. The air feels crisp, cold and clean. The night feels right.
