Expectations unmet

I’ve been reading a bit surrounding the divorce of Al and Tipper Gore, and it makes me wonder–do we put unreasonably high expectations on love and marriage? Do we use love and love and relationships to hide from things about ourselves? Do we set ourselves sup for failure by looking to the other person to fill all the holes we have within us? What do we use love and marriage and relationships for, really? Sex, money, warding off loneliness? Why do we use each other like this? Why can’t we do better than this? What will it take? Will we have the courage to do what it takes?

There are the questions.

Go answer them.
