The sad thing, universally, about l’affaire Dominique Strauss-Kahn, is that lessons won’t be learned. There will be some men who won’t understand that women aren’t conquests for our amusement, to be used as we please. And some women won’t get, or are too scared to know, that they can say no, you can’t abuse me. Sex that’s coerced, forced, violent, is abuse. No one should tolerate it. But humans, being who we are, tolerate so much, for reasons not readily fathomable.
